Clown Fish Liver Spots?

One of my clowns has some light brown shadowing in little patches under the skin. It looks like liver spots on a person. The fish is behaving normally and it doesn't seem to be bothered at all by it. It is also 6 years old. Does anyone know what it might be? Hard to get a picture as it won't stay still and it is only on one side of its body. I added a few new corals from frag fest but no new fish for months.

Some seem to just get more black, or in this case spots as they get older. In other cases they get the markings from rubbing on certain corals. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about unless it looks "fluffy", raised or is eating away at tissue or the like.

If that's all it is I guess there's not much I can do about it. I hope he doesn't get wrinkley too!

Looks a little like a sting from a coral to me, if that's the case it should go away eventually. Doesn't look like disease. Nice Clown :)

Another person told me it looked like a zoanthid sting. My clown usually avoids all corals in my tank so maybe he lost his resistance over the years?

I think they call it hyper melanization, usually the result of some sort of sting.

I guess all I can do is keep an eye on it to see if it gets worse.

+1 on the sting. Mine had the same thing when they started hosting in a torch after a while it all went away.
