Acclimatizing a few things - questions
Ok so Ive got some of my CUC here.
Got a couple peppermint shrimp, 4 blue legged hermits, 2 nassarius snails and two brittle stars. Im just wondering how long I should drip acclimate? So far its been about 45 mins. I heard crabs and shrimp need like 1.5 hrs though but I gotta go for dinner soon. Just wondering what you guys think? |

Longer is always much better. |
We try to acclimate our shrimp for at least 1.5 hours with the drip method. Fish can be a little faster.

I assume the reefer has placed the plastic bag to float in the tank or sump to equalize the temperature and than dripped from the main or sump to equalize salinity in which case the temperature will be steady and there will be no ammonia buidup. |
Only on rare occasions do I drip for longer than 1 hour. Inverts usually get the 1 hour treatment, and fish 30-45 minutes. Of course I watch them all and make sure they are doing well.

The only thing I acclimate are shrimp. Everything else including crabs get the temp equalized, then I remove from the bag and place in the tank
