Red Dragon Help! impeller stutter
I noticed this morning that my BK mini 180 wasn't running at first I thought I plugged it in the wrong spot on my profilux bar so I plugged it directly into an empty socket. I sat and watched and the pump has a stutter runs perfect then stutter....perfect.....stutter. I took it apart and cleaned it out but no difference. Any Ideas? Impeller or a whole new pump?
Thanks. |
Check the impeller shaft. You could have one of those with a ceramic shaft instead of titanium.
|
The material of the shaft does not make a difference. What you need to look at is the alignment of the bearing.
Anyway, PM'd. |
They got a recall on some pumps, didn't read the whole thread and not sure which of the red dragons but I'd look into it, can't hurt.
|
That's the beauty of the RD warranty. If you can't get it to work properly just take it in and get a new one.

Yep within an hour of my original post I had a Pm from Albert with his number and help to fix it! Truly amazing service!

Poo eh, I'd still let them know, maybe you'll be the lucky lottery winner and be that one more that pushes em to a recall
|
sounds like a broken shaft.
|
Nope the shaft is perfect I think the end bearing may be worn a little and is causing the impeller to be off balance and thus shutting the pump down. Albert at Proline Aquatics has taken care of me and I should be good as gold very soon! Great product, Great warranty and great service!
Thanks for all the input everyone. |
