yeah, i think Flamesfan had his clowns hosting in a patch of similar mushrooms.

I agree with John that they can too. Mine host in my hairy mushrooms anyways so I would think that mushroom could work. Seems like different clown fish like to choose what they host in though so I would think there is no guarantee they will for sure.

A clown can host in just about anything they want. I've seen them host powerheads on a few occasions for example. Basically they'll host whatever they want in captivity. If you're looking for a good surrogate host, other than an anemone, leathers work well. Hosts like zoanthids might actually be a poor choice since they will likely closeup when the clown brushes against them.

I am getting a red bubble tip anemone and a donut coral soon so hopefully the breeding austrlian black and white Percula's will host in that.
Also do you know what they like to eat and where they lay there eggs so i can try breeding them.

Thank you

I actually would advise against letting the clownfish 'host' in any mushrooms (especially larger ones like elephant ears or any that can enclose them). There are more than a dozen incidents that clownfish got eaten by their host at night, elephant ear mushrooms are most famous for that.

As for the 'breeding' part, it does not really matter they have a host or not.
