Good light for 10-20g
Hey i am looking for a good light for mostly all corals. MH, T5OH, whatever. It needs to be cheaper, good quality and fit a 10g, that will be ungraded to a 20g. any help??? I can get a giessman 250w, for a decent price, but will that be too much heat/light for that size a tank?

Take a look at the Current Nova Extreme or Nova Extreme Pro. I don't think a lot of their bulbs but after a few changes you should have a great little setup.
|
The only problem with the Nova Extreme Pros is that the 20" size only fits the special 18" current bulbs so you have no bulb choice and the next size up is 36". I would look for a 24" T5HO fixture. That's what I had over my 10 gallon and it would then be perfect for a 20 gallon after that.

if i can get my hands on a 20" sunpod would that be good enough for a 20g? (length wise)

ok, whats a good cheap fixture for that?

24" teklight should do the trick for a good price. Take a look at J&L website.

I've got a 24" fishneedit fixture that was great on a 10 gallon. Had SPS in there. They are just releasing some updated ones that are supposed to have better reflectors etc. They are good fixtures for the price. And the dollar is almost at par so they are an even better deal now. Also, I understand some people have had luck with buying one without bulbs if you ask them so you can go straight to higher quality bulbs in it. Their bulbs aren't the best.

what about the 4 bulb 24" aquamedic light? for 299$ Is that a good buy?
