hose clamps

what are people using regarding hose clamps in and out of water?
i ordered some plastic hose clamps from marine depot, but for some reason the 3/4" clamp was too small for 3/4" hose.
could i use zip ties?
anybody know of good hose clamps in calgary?

I've used zip ties outside on a garden hose with a barbed fitting, holds the hose at 60psi.

I use Zip ties myself. In and out of water
