Little critters

Hello everyone. I am new to canreef and the salt water world. I bought a friends established tank and got it moved two weeks ago. Buying this way certainly made for a steep learning curve but other than an open brain that wont eat everything is good. Anyways to my question, tonight I noticed after the lights went out a large amount of little critters running around the sand> they are light in coulour and have little tenticles in front they almost look like a lite almost clear wood bug. Any ideas and are these bad?

Hi,

+1.... More than likely Copepods & Amphipods. All beneficial crustaceans that will provide food for you're reef inhabitants and fishes.

Regards, Simon...

Your brain my not be doing well because it is too high up in the tank.
You should also plane some small pieces of fresh shrimp on it and cover it for a while with those plastic strawberry 'baskets' so no one else steals its food.

The brain is on the sand bed. I think the move was just to stressfull. have been hand feeding smal pieces of shrimp and it seems to be doing better today.

Keep feeding it and I'm sure it will be fine. I keep coming back to the fact that corals (like all animals) need feeding... my Paly frag is showing me the way

Oh, and welcome to Canreef!
