107th Ave. Calgary SW - Need photo.
I was googling around tonight and I thought I would try and locate my old house from Calgary. I lived there with my family from 1974 to 1977, aged 7-10 years old. The only address I remember is 107th Avenue S.W. so finding my old house was abit of a chore. I have a great memory for landmarks and recalling the paper route I shared with my brother and which direction my school was(Ethyl P. Johnson apparently) I found it! I was hoping there is a Calgary reefer nearby who wouldn't mind snapping a couple of pictures of the house I think was mine.
Here is a link to a google street map I made. My house was the second to last one on the South side of 107th Ave. as it meets but does not intersect with 14th St. Click on satellite to get a good view. http://maps.google.ca/maps/ms?oe=utf...f947f&t=h&z=19 I have great memories of my short time as a kid in Cowtown and if anyone can snap a couple of quick pics I would be most appreciative. |
Aiiiiieee, ok if I remember in the morning I can try. It's not too far away from where I work..
|
that's practically down the street from us :-)
|
HAHAHA i used to live there too,
grew up there for 16 years |
Nifty! Looking at the map I can retrace my childhood footsteps. Falling off my bike on 108th ave and cracking my elbow... Walking forever in the Summer heat to the large indoor swimming pool complex towards the S.E. and my buds daring each other to jump off the upper platform of the diving towers... Making Tye-dye t-shirts with my hippie teachers at the elementary school... Kite flying at the same school... Sigh what an age.
|
you can still do all those things today :-)
|
They still have Hippie teachers?
|
I had one maybe 10 years ago. There's still a chance!

Ok I swung by the house this morning but yay, my phone battery was too low and it wouldn't let me snap a picture. Sorry man, I'll try again when I have some juice put back into the thing.
It's a little white bungalow, has a hedge around the front yard, some enormous pine trees in the one corner, and a painted-white wrought iron front gate. Does that sound familiar to you at least? |
