disappearing mushrooms
Went camping, came back after 2 night to find no trace of any of our mushrooms left in our tank. Star polyps fine, kenya tree fine, all animals fine.
Any thoughts? We have a coral banded, hermit crabs, snails. Not sure if any of these would eat them? I do not think any fish would eat them? You can see a fish list in the signature if they do |
Well from the sounds of this and your other thread i would hesitate a guess of a big dirty crab of some sort or a eunicid worm http://www.oregonreef.com/sub_worm.htm What type of fish in the tank/which tank in your sig?

had to update
due to changes and losses I had to update my sig.
Its the 100 gallon where the mushrooms disappeared. The 65 bow where the fish are disappearing. (falco's hawkfish, orchide dotty, 4 chromis) The tank is healthy. Water parameters are fine. And seriously what would take down a hawkfish!? A shark! I am at a loss. All my rock is over 3 years established in my tanks with very little from the store. Mostly from established tanks. No crazy things like this until now. Guess I should set a crab trap in the bow tank. |
I discovered I had a rock crab in my tank only after losing 3 fish, when your lights are low at night, check your tank, that's when the crab came out,got him with a fondu scuer, didn't lose any more fish after that.

Worm!
That worm is terrible!!! To the point my wife wants the tanks out of our house, well just kidding, I didnt show her, cause that would be the response.
I will have to do the red lens over the flashlight thing. Gonna set a few crab traps. A glass with food in the bottom of it. |
I only wish my mushrooms would start dissapearing...lol. They are at plague proportions for me now.
