ice cap canopy fan,,,,,
Hi guys,
just received my ice cap canopy fan today..... Should the fan be used to take air out of the canopy or should it push air in the canopy???....my canopy is partially open in the back... hoping to hear from you best regards Marco |

You should have it pushing in across the water. This encourages evaporative cooling. Also, if it went out, you'd have more salt in your fan than in your tank!!

I run two Ice Cap fans in my canopy. One mounted at each end with one sucking air in and the other sucking air out. Seems to work pretty good.

Yeah definatly intake. The partially open back will give you all the ventilation you should need. My canopy had a 400w MH 2-55w Actinic PC's and 1-40w NO Actinic and I was using a Icecap fan with two 6" ventilation holes on the opposite side on top of the canopy and had no heat problems what so ever. I probably could have another 400w without problems! :D
