Feeler: 9 yr old hippo for sale
I am in a bit of a dilemma. I have a 9 year old hippo that i have raised from a 1" inch baby to a 7" pig that eats everything and anything. I just got a 4" blue throat trigger which is unfortunately being picked on by the hippo. I don't know what this fish is worth at a store and i really do not want to take it to a store, considering trades for other types of peaceful tangs. This fish is immaculate with no hle or any scars. Will eat from your hand and will let you hold it (sometimes). I will not even consider offers from anyone who has a tank smaller than 150 gallons or a newly set up tank.
I'm going to be watching the tang and the triggerfish during the week to see if they get along any better and make a decision next weekend. If you are seriously interested then let me know. I will post up some pictures tomorrow. |
I had the same problem with a hippo and a blue throat trigger. Now they get along fine. Maybe give it some time and hopefully it will work itself out.

put a mirror on front of him or the tnak where is swims , i did that to my kole tang ,when i added my baby orange shoulder tang, the kole keep picking on baby Lu LU, until i left that mirror there for over a week the kole stayed in the corner trying to get at himself. and the little one got a chance to swim around and relax to the tank.. even at feeding the kole wouldnt leave the corner thinking that his reflection might get food first. It has always worked for me ...... give it a try:biggrin:

Thanks for the suggestions, i really don't want to get rid of either fish. Hopefully the tang will forget about the trigger by the end of the week

I'm surprised you would get rid of the fish you've had for nine years over a fish you just got. Things that make you go hmmm:p

I know, crazy as it seems since i've had it for so long. I don't want to take a hit on the blue throat trigger and i dont want to part with such an old fish at the same time. Why can't everything just get along :(

im serious try the mirroe thing it works no one is telling you to get rid of your 9 yer old tang, try everything that you can getting rid of a fish that doesnt get along is the last thing that you should try.
