I found these .... what look to be egg sacks in a colony of zoanthids about 3 weeks ago anyone have any idea what they are....

Around the same time I found 2 patches of these in different areas of the tank and they seem to be growing... again maybe egg sacks .. but not sure?

dunno what the first is. are you sure the paler circles aren't actually holes? if they are, I say some kind of sponge.

the second are tunicates, sea squirts. harmless filter feeder.

Both have classic Porocytes (pinacocytes) structure, which would indicate that there sponges and not egg sacks. I know alot of the zoa colonies I have collected have small sponges/ other growths in between the polyps. The purple one is kind of cool looking, consider it a bonus:lol:!
