Cleaning GFO

The Rowaphos in my reactor has become clumped and will not separate. Is there some way of rinsing it without losing it all down the drain?

I've never rinsed it. Allways dump and add new. Never knew you could rinse it. When it's full of Po4, its done.

It's only been running about 6 weeks. If it's clumped does that mean it is time to replace it?

Tough to say if it's all used up or not. I've never had mine clump. I usually replace mine every 4-6 weeks, but I know from testing my tank that's how long it lasts.

I've had mine clump before it was from debris being stuck in it I just broke it up and flushed it. I increased the flow through the reactor after that and never happened again.
