INjecting Ozone into skimmer??
With the tank setup I got, the prev owner had a Ozone generator and the Red Sea Berlin skimmer mentions injecting Ozone into the skimmer. What is that all about? Should I think about plumbing it into the system, or is it "Old School"

I've heard that ozone breaks some organics down, and therefore helps the skimmer skim better. Used properly, I'm sure it couldn't hurt... but run some carbon in a reactor after the skimmer or run your skimmer effluent into the sump far away from the return pump, so the ozone has a chance to either escape or turn back into O2.

Hmmm. I guess one would need a ORP meter to run it properly?

I ran ozone for about a year before I got lured into the ULNS. I ran very low levels 25mg and ran it into my euroreef. Personally I wouldn't run ozone without an ORP monitor.

Running ozone actually decreases the amount that your skimmer pulls by breaking down the molecules before they are skimmed out. Ozone is a highly reactive and deadly gas so it would be a good idea to do a lot of reading on it before you try it out. For those reasons an ORP Controller is a must.
