Drill my first hole! (Sucessfully!)

I tried once before and it turned out the side of that tank was tempered. This time I was successful! Drilled it with the tank standing up. It is 1/2" glass, so pretty strong stuff.

1 down, 2 to go!

How many times can I use this drill bit? It is from Mops.ca

Also, what is the proper way to secure the bulkhead? Should I silicone it? Or is tightening it up enough?

I did 2 holes through 1/2" glass no problem with my mops bit. I would think you can probably get the 2 more you need with it. Silicone shouldn't be necessary for your bulkheads but I think some people use it for peace of mind. Don't use a wrench when tightening it, hand tight is all you need.

No silicone...only use it as a last resort. Hand tighten, 1/4 turn with a wrench.

Agreed. I like to gently use a wrench as well.
