Today is my anniversary and my wife decided to buy me a fish for my SPS tank...

Store #1 - LFS Employee told her that a Valentini Puffer would be great in a reef tank. Also told her that the Angelfish that I returned there 3 months ago (still there) would be great in the tank. She decided to get the Puffer and when they guy walked away to get a net, a random reefer told her not to do it as they are not reef safe. Luckily, she listened!

Store #2 - The Owner wouldn't sell her anything, because it was clear to him that she didn't know what fish I had or where my knowledge was. She fairly insisted on a Morish Idol, but he wouldn't cave.

So although I didn't get a new fish today, thanks to a random guy and a great LFS owner, I avoided disaster. Also, the thought of my wife spending an afternoon going to fish stores, which she hates...well the thought really does count :)

That is the best gift ever... I doubt she hates your hobby but it does become a bit of an obsession...Hug your wife she deserves it!!!

Well store #2 sounds like a reputable company at least, thats always nice to hear that they wont sell to if your not really sure on what your buying. Congrats on your anniversary.

what store was the second one i spend a good amount of time in kelowna and wouldnt mind checking out some good stores
