ponds and goldfish and potassium permangenate

Has anybody ever used PP to rid their fish of anything? I bought some in case I had fish problems and ... well then I did and I used it ... I am sure I did not get the dosage correct. Does anyone have any tips?

The fish seemed to have some growths on their gills .. and this cleared it up and they are now recovering.

The lady who runs the Puregold site has a huge pond or two in her Wisconson backyard. If there isn't pond info at her site, join the PG mailing list. Was on it for awhile when we kept GF and there was usually some pond discussion.

Then there are the newsgroups for pond info:

news:rec.ponds

news:rec.aquaria.freshwater.goldfish

Both were pretty active and informative when I frequented them during our GF keeping days.

Beverly thanks for the link..it is a good site. One of my fish got caught under a rock and sort of wore all the scales off on one side. I got some great tips from that place.

Steve I have built 4 ponds (one with a stream) and I have some good links for things like filters and the like. I also have some tips on things that work and don't if your interested.
