I saw that add, are purple carpets really that expensive? never really looked at the prices of them before.

For that size i would say that is a good price. I have seen them in the store for 5"-6" for a little less than that $175-$200 ish.

I suspected the carpet was overpriced, some of the other stuff sounds nice tho.
Anything to help a fellow reefer build his tank with nice stuff is good.

This guy is out to lunch. Purple carpets are rare but not more than say $100-120 rare. And $100 for zoanthids? $60 for ocellaris?? **$80** for candycane?? Puhleeze. A sucker is born every minute though, he might get away with it.

Yeah I was kind of thinking it was expensive, when he had pics of the corals up before the red and green candycane was quite nice actually, but not $100 nice.

What's sadder though? If he was just a little less on the asking price for the carpet I'd be all over it, unreasonable asking price or not. :lol: Maybe he's expecting offers and the whole negotiation-dance or something. Too bad the pics are down I would have loved to see the carpet.

Uh ya!! Way overpriced. He wants (high) LFS prices, and you just don't get LFS prices in private sales.
