OUCH?! Did I get zapped???
Actually, it felt like I got zapped. I had a small cut on my finger that I hadn't noticed. It's amazing how much pain salt water can cause on an open wound. It has happened to me twice now!
Vynil gloves, here I come! Btw, guys, if ever you go to a tropical destination, don't shave just before you go for a swim in the ocean!!! |
I find SW makes my cuts and scrapes heal faster
Cool! Does that mean it won't hurt as much the next day?
its probably stray voltage in the water not the salt causing the zap feeling, you can just feel it through your cut where your skin would normally block it, get a grounding probe and check your powerheads and heater
your skin blocks something like 32 or 35volts
so chances are its just a little bit of stray voltage in the tank which you could now feel since the skin was penetrated. grounding probe will solve the problem |
Its the salt, believe you me, this coming from a chronic nail biter, its the salt. Gets me every time
I've had the same thing from cuts! Ouch!
Btw, I do have a ground probe in the tank. Stray voltage is something to consider. But I'll be darned if the pain doesn't come from a the slightest cut on my fingers I hadn't noticed before
oh yeah I've felt it a few times now.. both cuts and a little voltage (I had a little overflow problem wet cords, hand in the sump and zap, hand in the tank and zap) ouch... lol Its long cleared up by now, the electrical that is...
OUCH! sounds really painful!
I don't think I have had that experience before, but it almost always make my hand/arm itchy after putting it in the water. I try my best to put on my long sleeve glove as much as possible but sometimes its just get kind of too annoying, you know..........? |
