Wrong Forum

Depends on size of your tank... usually two will pair up..and the third one will be beaten up and die....

I seen 3 in tank before....but need a very big one...

Uh ive had a few different species of clown and have had trios with all of them except 2. One was the maroon clown and the other was perculas. The other ones (Flase percs, Pink Skunks, Clarkii) all took the 3rd one into the "school". \

But ya one had to be bigger then add the other 2.

If you have a large tank (over 100 gallons) then two pairs can often be kept if you have two anemones, one on either side. Having a trio is a bad idea, two will pair up and the third will probably be beaten up to the point of death.

I had 3 clowns in my 230g. My 1 saddleback (which recently passed away due to old age) hosted a GBTA and my 2 ocellaris host in a frogspawn. My saddleback constantly picked on/beat up/nipped at my 2 ocellaris clowns. They were all added at the same time to the 230g and their hosting homes are at opposite ends of the tank. I thought that I would be ok with 3 clowns in such a big tank but yet my saddleback often picked on the ocellaris, not to much at first, but over time it got worse and worse. Thankfully the saddleback never did any major damage (just the odd nip or bite mark) but still I always felt bad for my ocellaris clowns. IMO 3 clowns = fights

I had 2 for a couple of months then I adopted a 3rd that was about half the size of the first 2, they never fought a bit . I have them in a 72 gal. I think that because he was a lot smaller he never posed a threat.

ive got a 110 tall tank with 2 true perculas, 1 black percula and a pink skunk clown they are all happy together, so maybe it just depends on the clowns themselves.

Had one, added 2 more that were smaller than the first. Been more than a year no problems.
