Newfoundland!!!!!

Hey all,
I dont think there are many newfies on this site but maybe I can still get some help. My husband is from Newfoundland and we, as well as his immediate family are all going to Newfoundland this summer for a big family reunion. We will be there for 3 weeks.
Some of us are flying there and some are driving. In any case we are meeting in St Johns. and then going to see signal hill right away and then we will take the ferry over to Fogo Island (where my hubby is from) and spend a week there. Then we are going back to the mainland for a week so we can see Gros Morne National Park "The Viking Trail".
Ive been researching and researching to plan an itinary for us for the week (7 days only). And there is so much I want to see and do.
If anyone has any first hand experience or suggestions on what to see or where to go that would be the best ever.

Heres what I have so far (not set in stone)
Day 1: Arrive and overnight it in Deer Lake OR Gros Morne National Park.

Day 2: Tablelands Hike (2hrs); Touch the earths mantle and look at the area where Newfoundland was broken away from the ancient continent of Pangea.
Short Green Gardens Hike (3-4hrs); look at sea stacks, wildflowers, volcanic rocks, fiord
Discovery Centre; basically a learning centre to see all the marine life and learn about them. From here we can see Bonne Bay.

Day 3: Lookout Hike (2.5 hrs); Panoramic views and high chances of seeing moose and caribou.
Bakers Brook Falls hike (2-3hrs); Wildflowers, forest and the waterfalls.
Evening hike to Lobster Cove head (30min) At low tide we can see the tidepools and watch the sun set over the ocean.

Day 4:
St Anthony Boat tour (2.5hrs); whales, dolphins and icebergs
Arches hike; see limestone arches
William Greenfell historic property

Day 5:
L'Anse aux Meadows and Norstead

Day 6: Port aux choix (Archaic Indian sites, ongoing archeological dig, Philips garden hike, etc

??

Day 7: Leave and go back to Fogo Island for another week??

Wouldn't the sunset be over the mainland????......or is it to far away to see the mainland?

Depending on the time of your visit you should check out the George Street Festival. I think it usually happens the first week of Aug. Bands play in the street every night with the final night being Kitchen Party with all local bands.
Might also want to consider the Salmon Festival in Grand Falls, again not sure of dates.
When you are in Deer Lake I would suggest driving a little further to the new resort area(name escapes me) just before Corner Brook. It is really turning into a nice area.
