great setup man , but i dont think you can use that silicone not the white stuff. that is not aqaurium safe silicone.. sorry man ....unless they start maing it now , but i highly doubt it.
for the record what type of silicone is that |
its rona brand no midew protection says right on it that its aquarium safe
|
wow really good to hear never seen any white silicone for tanks before ...
|
yea thanks for the concern tho
my friend used the same stuff in his 220G planted discus and its been a year and they all have survived so i figured it was ok far as i know and research went its the midew protection that is harmful to fish any silicone that has no protection is OK.. i actually read the label on a clear one and it was opened in the store so i grabbed the one behind it paid got home popped it open and sure enough it was WHITE. wasnt impressed but its in the stand so i got over it lol. its $4 a tube instead of $20 at the LFS |
Looks great so far man! I like what you did with the aluminum trim on the stand and doors.
|
thanks we went and bought the hardwood got home and went damn the tongue and groove will be hard to hide haha live and learn i still need some more trim on the canopy but ive just been lazy. and that trim is hard to cut at a 45* angle i used a hand mitre but its still not perfectly accurate but im just a gas fitter not a carpenter
