Acrylic to glass? (the start of a DIY nano)

Ive seen a ton of threads with this title, and never bothered reading them. Now as im looking at a empty 40 gallon tank sitting in my house im thinking 30 gallon nano with overflow! (no sump, just two compartments and a return) I want a overflow with "teeth" and the only way I see that is with acrylic. Plus having to drill for a return etc, acrylic would be the easiest. Any ideas would help. As well as where I can get acrylic would be beneficial. Thanks

Depends on what tools you have available to you....if you have like no tools it will be easier and cheaper for you to go with glass....the overflow can be done with egg crate instead of cutting teeth.....or if you want you can cut teeth into glass aswell if you have a wet tile saw...and you can drill glass with diamond tipped holesaw's!!

If you have alot of wood working tools....i.e. table saw, router, drill press.... You can go with acrylic it's lighter more clear stronger and more things can be done with it over glass!!!
