Is it new?

New..."ish". Got him back in September but is incredibly shy so I've been trying to give him a lot of space. Took him nearly 40 days to start eating. Now he eats pretty good but only twice a week. I actually tried to get a video of him eating tonight but I fed him yesterday and apparently he's full because there was no interest in the food. But boy when he IS hungry, watch out. :lol: I did manage to clean the tank up some this weekend and I'm still on the "oooh, the tank looks clean, I should take some pictures!!"-high. :) I'll try again mid-week maybe with some oyster (that's usually pretty spectacular to watch him go at..)

Good stuff! Are they like other eels in that they need a covered top?

keri, all eels need a tank cover with zero holes. no exceptions.

I mean it's kinda cool to watch but I'd never want one... and I'm not really into touching them.

I guess a buddy of a buddy of mine (ahah now it sounds like a "story" but it's true) had a big boa and he had to go out of town for a bit and got his girlfriend to watch it... and she woke up after an afternoon nap and the thing was stretch ed out beside her... like straight as the thing could get... tight as a guitar string so she calls the vet to tell him what's up and he's like get outta there right now! The snake is sizing you up!???

wes, whoaaa that is pretty freaky. how big was the boa? Im getting myself a cornsake soon (lol definitely not a boa) :mrgreen:.
