Hard Boiled Eggs and Telescopes
So I guess my finances nephew wants a telescope for Christmas... anyone know anything about them?
We bought him a Meade DS 2090 today: http://www.astronomylog.co.uk/wp-con...-telescope.gif http://www.meade.com/starterscopes/ds_series.html It looks like the 2080 but is a 2090 (90mm optical diameter) Model. It's brand new and never used... I guess they use to sell this model at Costco but we got it on kijiji so I hope it's decent for a kid.. from the reviews I can find it seems like a good entry level scope Something else I picked up this week for the office is a Boiley... lets you cook hard or soft boiled eggs in the microwave. If you follow the directions it works like a charm. $5 @ London Drugs http://www.paramountzone.com/im/xmas07/big1/052.jpg http://www.kitchenkrafts.com/product...cd2=1227254945 |
Ok I get it... no one likes looking at the stars or eating eggs at work

I have the Meade LX200.... its a good brand and give quality performance, so good choice... what optics came with it?

I was thinking about buying one for my lil foster brothers and then I can use it too ahah |
Well the optics sometimes costs more than the telescope sometimes.... my telescope was $1200 used and the optics (depending on how much zoom you want) ended up costing almost another $1000.
You have the autostar system though and thats a great computer as it basically shows you a computerised guided tour of the sky at night and as a novice this is pretty good as i didnt know anything about it and this taught me alot. I'm more than sure that this will be a good xmas present  |
