My 30g Reef - New Camera
I am new to this photography thing and I just bought a Nikon D40 2 days ago so I am still trying to fiddle around and figure out some of the settings. Here are some pics I have taken thus far.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/CSC_0120.jpg My Linckia Star http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/CSC_0121.jpg The star again http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/DSC_0019.jpg Wall hammer http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/DSC_0017.jpg Branching hammer http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/DSC_0006.jpg Tank shot http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/DSC_0096.jpg My night shot. A pitiful attempt at adjusting the aperture and shutter. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/DSC_0104.jpg The wall at night http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/DSC_0050.jpg Playing with the focus. The SPS is in focus while the red flowerpot is out of focus. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/DSC_0049.jpg The process reversed. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/DSC_0023.jpg Some mundane polyps http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/DSC_0025.jpg Kind of neat. The knocked over SPS is the result of my lumbering urchin. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/DSC_0029.jpg Various other things. More polyps, zoas, gorgan, colt, some toadstools the back somewhere. If anybody wants to know the exact settings for any of the pics juts ask, I have the info saved in the properties of the NEF files. |
Neat
I have a D40 too but I don't know how to use it. I really like the pic of the wall hammer at night and the colour of the star. |
Thanks, I have about another 100 pics that didn't turn out to good. too much shaking, bad use of the flash. Learning curve I guess
For the d40 I would suggest using the sport setting for good day shots and the shutter and aperture priority settings. If you use "A" or "S" though, make sure the flash is off and use a tripod or something similar to hold the camera. I thought it handy to use the 2 second timer on the camera so it is completely still when it fires. |
