LED marmalade
ok, so i'm going to go with these
lights for my 5.5gallon im secretly working on:black:, and im not sure if i should get 1 or 2 of these fixtures. Oh, and the tank wont be SPS or anything, just some zoos, rics, softies, and maybe a bit of lps. |
I checked out the link and it looks like a good concept, keep us informed on how it turns out
|
no problem. maybe i'll post some teaser pics if i can just figure out how to turn my projects into pictures on sketchup
|
Those won't work for you, they're good for much but moonlights.
|
do you have any experience with them?
|
The store I work at sells them and I took one out of the box and messed with it for a bit. They have a super narrow beam so on something like a 5g they are going to put down 4 shafts of light rather than lighting up an area. I suppose you could try putting a bunch of the modules on the tank raised up a bit but you'd need 10 of the things to light it up decently.

well that's a bit discouraging. maybe I'll try some DIY LED's. vive marmalade

ok, after looking at some threads about DIY LED..i don't think its a job for a 13 year old to be doing
this isn't looking too promising, but i'll keep looking. please tell me if you see something that would work |
