http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/b...9/P1020071.jpg It appears to be a large black nudibranch. |
cool!

Nice. Get it ID'd at http://www.seaslugforum.net/
|
Derek that is gross. Where did you find it? What was it eating? hehe ;)
|
That looks like it could be a species of Polyclad Flatworm, some of these are predatory. I had a huge one in my old tank that cleaned me out of almost every snail and Clam I owned. Put it in the sump until you have an ID.
:surprise: |
The thing that makes me think its a dorid nudi is because it has the gills near the anus, although they arent shown in the picture. It looked like Pseudoceros sapphrinus, but there flourescent blue ring around it and i dont think the polyclad worms have the gills by the anus but i'm definitely no expert.
Diana I found a black ball in my tank and decided to investigate it, it could be why some of my zoas have been disappearing but i thought that was more crab related. |
sweet! yeah I was about to suggest a planarian, but the gills you describe would definitely make it a dorid nudibranch. wonder what it was eating...
|
whatever it was, it looks like it had a lot of it.....
