...and then there were 7!!
My gold barbs had a baby!! (well, in reality there were probably hundreds of eggs/babies but THIS one made it!) I've named him Agent Morgan (anybody else watch Criminal Minds? You keep thinking they've blown him up, but no, he's still alive!)
These pics are from 2 weeks ago, I was waiting to see if he'd actually make it but so far so good, the colour is a bright gold yellow now, almost the same as the parents. I have them in a 55g heavily planted mixed peaceful community tank - he lives in a giant mass of java moss which I'm sure they spawned in....pretty cute! http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...tmorgan2-1.jpg http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...entmorgan3.jpg http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...tmorgan4-1.jpg And 2 of the possible parents (There are 6) http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...Agoldbarb1.jpg http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...Agoldbarb2.jpg And of course Delilah checking it all out http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...ckingitout.jpg |
Congrats...that is sooo cool!

My rosey barbs havent had any babies, but im currently pondering what to do with the FORTH batch of red swords that have arrived into my tank in within 3 months...
First batch i got 9, second 8, 3rd 10, and this last one i havent put the babies into a breeders net because of not having enough room. |
That's awesome. One of the advantages of fw is the fact that we can breed many more species than is currently possible for marine.
Looking good Keri. Anthony |
"Agent Morgan" is still alive and growing!! I can't believe how fast he's growing actually, he's probably allready 1/4-1/3 the size of the smallest adult. I don't think anyone can eat him now!!
I got some serpae tetras a couple of weeks ago and I think I'm regretting them, they're mean to eachother!! |
What kind of plant (sword??) is that in the proud parent pic that is growiing upright to a leaf.
Can you post a FTS as wwll plwase i would really like to see this tank. |
Sorry it's a TERRIBLE picture, I just can't get a good one!! Don't mind the tinfoil on top of the tank....it was an attempt to keep the cats off (not working)
I believe the plant your asking about is called an anubius? (sp?) a friend gave me a little bit of it and it's taken right off. http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...FTSoct1008.jpg |
