Other then good aquarium husbandry (O2 levels, water change and good light).
try feeding reef roids. All of my SPS corals love it. |
my friend had a what i thought was a completely bleached and dead Christmas tree rock in his tank, with the colorful dusters still doing good tho. he left to go up north and his mom asked me how she should care for the tank and i told her just do 10% volume water changes weekly with a refractometer instead of a really poorly calibrated salinity probe. i was amazed when i came back a few months later and saw the SPS part of the rock was coming back.

how much light?

all the colonies iv see were under very birght t5's or MH. mine are under 150W 10k MH at the bottom of my 30" tank and do fine.

I have one that is near the top of the tank and I am only running 110w pc. I have had this rock since the beginning so it is well over a year old now. Both worms and coral are doing fine.

hmmmm! thanks everyone, all suggestions are greatly appreciated!
my tank is running with Lunar Aqualight (2x 96 watts w/ moon lights), i cant imagine it would be the lighting cause i've had the coral for some times now. instead i added some supplements - calcium +3 and coral accel, this seem to help abit the color is coming back but i guess we'll see in a week or so. all other parameters are inline. thanks again! |
