Does RBTA release toxins when it dies?

My RBTA was doing great yesterday after a run in with the power head a few weeks ago. This morning my water turned cloudy and the RBTA was no where to be found. Bits and pieces of fleshy stuff was floating around which I'm assuming was the RBTA. Then 2 fishes died this evening. Does RBTA release toxins after it dies? Thanks for any answers.

no, it won't release toxins, but will foul the tank as it decomposes. Do a water change and check your ammonia and nitrates.

Also run carbon in a canister or bag for a few days.
