T5 lighting config question
 

Ok so Im about to setup my 120gal system and was wondering what you guys thought about my bulb choices for a Aquactinics constellation for a mainly SPS tank.

Someone told me I should go with this:

Front
ATI Blue Plus
UVL 75/25
UVL Aquasun
ATI Blue Plus
GE 6500K or ATI Sun Pro
UVL 75/25
Blue Plus

But I went with this setup

Front
KZ new gen bulb
UVL 75/25
Fiji Purple
KZ new gen bulb
Fiji Purple
UVL 75/25
KZ new gen bulb

Anyone see any issues???

I would skip the UVL bulbs, stick with KZ except I might add the one Blue Plus. I think that would be a good start, you would get a chance to see all the major bulbs and could fine tune after that.

how do you find t5 lighting is with sps good growth and colour? im thinking of going the 8 light tek light set up on my 90 gallon

thanks for the link makes me feal more confident in t5's you always see metal halides for hard corals which i had but wasnt to fond off. so i think t5's it is thanks for the help its much apreciated

Why would you guys skip the UVL 75/25 bulbs?

You won't get much of a dawn/dusk effect using new gen and fijis on the outside.. that would be my only concern.

my personal preference is 50% new generation 50% fiji purple. I like that shallow reef look.

i know this a very old thread but need some input on lighting i have an 8 bulb t5 fixture now i have two of the bulbs but need 6 more i have a fiji purple and a midday. should i add 2 more middays or just one ? and what colour for the rest / config?
