starphire on smaller tanks

Just wondering if it would be worth it to put a starphire front on a 50gal tank, i am not too sure what the thickness of the glass is, but i am assuming it would be the standard for that size. any opinions?

You really don't gain the benefit of the "clarity" of starphire glass unless the glass thickness is 3/8" or better. At 50 gallons I doubt they would use anything thicker than 5/16"

When ordering from IA, starphire glass does not add much to the cost of the tank. With my 230, Mitch said starphire was an extra $100  . I would have got starphire if it was an extra $300. So if the diffrence in price is not that much I would go for it Sean. It still will make a diffrence because even if the glass is thin you still get the green tint from the glass.

cheers
