ATTN: pocilipora...RE: DIY RO Unit
Hey Chris. You mentioned once on this board that you knew a way to build an RO unit for $60. Care to tell me how you did it?
Sorry if this should be in the DIY forum, but I thought there would be a better chance of seeing this post here. Thanks in advance :) |
I'd be interested in that too.

You can get used ones at Union Pumps, 232nd Street and Fraser Hwy, Langley. You have to buy the membrane, carbon, and micron replacements. Ph # 604-533-3727

FYI...Just called Union Pumps.
Cheapest RO unit they quoted me was $485.00. Guess they don't have any $60 used ones anymore! |
I know for a fact they do have them. I was in there store less than a month ago. Id just go down there.

I'll do that. Thanks. Should I ask for anyone or anything in particular? Are the membrane, carbon...etc available there or do I need to hit up J&L for this stuff? |
Just a thought, have you tried Ebay...that is where I got a good deal.
|
They do sell membranes and everything to do with water filtration, but J&L would be cheeper for that stuff. Im not sure of the guys name to talk to.

I know its an old post but it was time to change my RO membrane so I went down to Union pumps and got a 50gpd membrane for $92 plus tax. And I also saw the used RO units still sitting there. I was told $60.They can also refill DI cartridges for cheaper than the Kent DIs.

Here is a local guy from west vancouver.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=20684 I am sure he could do it cheaper if you don't need the stirage container etc. Worth reading the ad to see the info on RO units. |
