Wavemaker in a 34g Cube Tank...
 

Anybody have any ideas on a wavemaker in a small 34g cube tank?

I'm currently running a Solana 20' cube with 2 Koralia 1's, the stock skimmer & the stock return pump generating the flow.

Would swapping the Koralias out for controllable Koralias do the job or would something like a Vortech be better?

I have a shallow sand bed & I'm looking for huge random flow without the sand storm if possible!

I have one in my 90 and need to save a few bucks to get another. I have a deep sand bed and even with the flow turned up I don't disturb the sand too much.

Very cool piece of kit!

Trouble is I'd only be using 50% or less of it's flow and wont be able to aim it away from my live rock.

Might need to re-aquascape to accomodate.

Anyone here use the controllable Koralias?

I think the wavysea would be ideal. Use whatever pump you'd like to customize your flow.

Have you looked at a Wavy Sea? You could mount a Maxijet mod on one.

Try a SQWD closed-loop like melev did.

You can always just plug a few powerheads into a Red Sea Wavemaker.

If you want to go "Porsche", a tunze multicontroller with 2x6055 would be awesome. Given how much the koralia controller is, the tunze option isn't all that much more and you get a smaller footprint with a little more flow and more wave options.

If you aren't planning for a lot of SPS, you might even be able to get away with just a single tunze 6055 and a single controller if you set up your rockwork correctly and go for Gyre-type flow.

My tank is vitually all SPS hence the flow dilemma.

I was thinking about using only one 6055 & a single controller as one of my options.

So I could just hook up the 2 Koralia's to a Wavy Sea controller? Would that be a decent solution? Never really looked at this option.

Don't want to go closed loop this time round...

The single 6055 & controller looks good from a price point. Never thought I'd say that about Tunze!

Shame there's no place to see all these options running in peoples tanks!
