New Type of Sand
Anybody hear about the benfits of this new type of small grain size sand? From what i understand its the anerobic or no oxygen bacteria that feed on ammonia levels so does this sand somehow help create pockets of the bacteria ?

It's not really that "new" per se. Sugar-fine aragonite is nice stuff because you don't need as much of it to create anaerobic zones which is where the denitrifying bacteria reside. So theoretically resulting in lower (or zero) nitrate levels. But basically without trying to get too much into the "sandbed versus no sandbed" debate, sand isn't the only place denitrifying bacteria can reside.

Ya, it's not new. It's really all about what you prefer. There's AMAZING reefs out there with DSBs, SSBs, and BBs. Although most of them that I've noticed are SSBs with semi-fine sand like the CaribSea Select. :)
