mag pump not working
 

got a mag 3 off a local reefer couple weeks ago and it worked great but now it's barely spitting out a centimeter of water, i really don't understand it as the impeller is spinning great but i put the intake/outake cover on and nothing, think it's the impeller assembly?

Is the impellar spinning freely on the shaft or spinning with the shaft?

i think it's spinning freely, simply because it's spinning really wobbly and i doubt it's supposed to run like that, new impeller or a way to tighten it down?

I believe most LFS can order them in.

i'll go pick one up at jl today, so the magnet and impeller are supposed to be stuck togther so that the impeller won't budge at all? reason is because mines pretty free moving

I would phone them to make sure that is the problem just in case. Also you can bring it in to them and see what they say. Sounds like that is the problem but I could be wrong.

i thought so too, wierd though the impeller is spinning very fast yet pushing no water out of the output, i'll give em a call, thanks again

well i called and he said too hold the magnet and if you can turn the impeller 360 degrees it needs to be replaced and mine did make a full turn, so thanks chris-
