Ushio 20,000+K vs. Stock MH Bulb
i got my new halide bulb the other day. the stock bulb that came in the sunpod wasnt doing it for me, and was washing out a lot of the colours. the new one looks a lot better, and the corals are much more vibrant. i cant wait to see how the corals respond growth-wise.
the easiest way to tell the difference is to check out the green rhodactis on the left side of the tank. looks browny green in the before pic, and a lot greener in the after pic. i wanted a Phoenix 14k, but couldnt get one, so i went with the ushio. What was the "stock" bulb, and how bright would you say the 20k is in comparison?
|
What happened to those T5's you just got
|
Those T5s were for a different tank of his. He just test drove them on his nano.
I like the look of 20K, but I'm too anal about PAR to be able to put a 20K on my tank. I'll put a lower Kelvin and supplement with lots of actinics. :D |
it's not as blue as i thought it would be. actually ends up closer to 14000k supposedly. everything seems to be responding very well to it.
and im not sure what the stock bulb was. some POS 14000k bulb that came stock with my sunpod. maybe it's called a Sunpaq or something like that? |
