New Tank shots and skimmer after mod
A few tank shots now that I cleaned it and rearranged the rock work.
Front shot http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...8/DSCF0026.jpg Side Shot http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...8/DSCF0027.jpg I made a minor (very minor) mod to my super skimmer 65 and now I seem to be getting way better skim mate and way better foam. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...8/DSCF0007.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...8/DSCF0006.jpg And my Fuzzy Lion. He's such a ham http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...8/DSCF0008.jpg |
Looks nice!
I'm curious what mod you did to you CSS65? |
Basically all I did was drill out the air inlet and the air silencer one drill bit size up. This should allow more air to come in. That way I can slow down the water flow and still have the same amount of air flow. The longer the water is in the air the cleaner it should get. I am going to add the fishing line mod to chop up the air more sometime this week.

Cool, thanks. Just curious as I tried mesh modding mine and it didn't really work out, I undid the mesh mod. The pump is too small IMO to make that one worthwhile. I did drill out my air inlet and found an improvement but I didn't think to do the same to the air silencer. That's a good idea, I'll have to try it, thanks for the idea!
I find I have to take a drill bit at least once a month though and gouge out the calcium buildup on my air inlet, seems really prone to gumming up down there. |
Yeah I found that out too
