what is this fish

ive had this fish for about 6 months and no one seems to know what it is any help would be great.

Looks very similar to a Helfriechs Fire Fish.

looked up the firefish. definately not the one. mine doesnt have the extended fin in the front

Not a yellowhead jawfish.

Looks like it may be part of the dartfish family. Try fishbase.org

thank you mr. alberta thats the one. yellow spotted tilefish. anyone ever tried to keep one?

gah the name escapes me, but i know J&L had one of those in the new & noteworthy section fairly recently. They also have one (the same one maybe?) in their display tank. It is definitely no firefish. Why don't you send them an email with that pic asking them?

Yup, I was about to say tilefish. Never seen this species of tilefish before though.
