Tetra Hermit crab meal
 

Just wondering if people directly feed their hermit crabs? Just got a bunch form Interior reef, and while I was at my LFS, I saw a can of Tetra Hermit Crab Meal. Vitaminized. So, like the impulse buyer I am, its now here at home. Do you feed your crabs? I know they are a CUC, but these are the first additions to my tank. Probibally wasted $18, didnt I?

My guess (and it's just a guess) is that this is food for land based hermit crabs that petshops sometimes sell. It likely isn't good for your water quality to add a lot of this to your tank.

I avoid feeding my crabs. i find they get lazy, then the tank looks like poop. keep em scavegin for ditrus so the tank is clean.

mine just scavenge leftover pellets and shrimp they do fine.

No, see, now what you have to do is get some land hermit crabs....bet you have a leaky tank kickin' around somewhere, it'd be perfect for 'em ;) :lol:

i agree , if you are going to buy manufactured shell at least by the X-MEN ones so they can look a little BAD ***.

Has anyone else had a SW hermit use a FW shell for a home ? i was just about to take them out when i noticed a blue legged hermit took a FW shell for a home.
