Odd hitchhiker.
This is a Ricordia colony that i have just gotten.
The hitchhicker in this case, is the supposed rock. Its actually some kind of Clam, or oyster.... any one got any ideas? http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...P/DSCF0089.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...P/DSCF0091.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...P/DSCF0092.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...P/DSCF0093.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...P/DSCF0094.jpg |
Yea looks like some sort of oyster.
Nice Score! |
SahhWeet. Hope I can get hitch hikers like that

That's kind of super cool, but kind of super scary as hell. It looks like a big toothy monster mouth :)
|
I think it a scallop....reason i say that is my son put a sticker on my computer tower of a picture of a scallop...and the caption says "scallops can have up to 100 eyes" and in the first pic up close, those dark dots on the edge look like eyes, just like on this sticker.

I bought 3 ricordia last year and they were on a big flat oyster, its still living in my tank....
|
I expect it will neet phytoplankton feeding to survive.
|
that is awesome
|
Yeah I'd guess scallop as well, and will probably need to be fed. Neat
|
So what if it DOES die? Will it foul his tank?
