Cowrie eggs

I was doing a water change today and had noticed that one of my cowrie's had been in the top front corner of my tank for days now. When I dropped the water level I decided to take a pic (the cowrie was heading for the water now) and what did I see but a mound of eggs. I quickly re-filled the tank and the snail headed right back to protecting them. Amazing to see though.

See attached picture.

My sister, Snailbuddy, raised snails for a few years. I've seen a lot of really ugly eggs....... I'd have nightmares of them attacking me if they were in my house.....

Very cool, Must be the season as mine have laid eggs as well. I was quite surprised.. Will have to see how things turn out. My clutch is no where near the size of yours...

Cheers and keep us posted in the development of them...

Richy....

Well I was starting to get a little worried about the Cowrie that's been sitting on these eggs for so long with no relief (food that is) but today the other Cowrie slid on up and they appear to be making out (possibly passing food over) and have been doing so for the whole afternoon. When I look at the right angle from outside the tank, I can see their mouths moving over each other.

Mother nature at it's finest.
