Growing Chaeto in my refugium currently lite 12 hour on RDP, but wondering if okay to change timing to 24/7 for more growth?

should be OK Mark. I'm doing the same thing but only just started. I've read may reefer's systems that puts their lights on 24/7 with chaeto.

anyone How big of lights do you use?

I've got a 28W PC on a 20g ref and now have a spare timer (went 24/7).

I always thought cheato, like any cholorophyll making plant, required a dark cycle to complete normal growth. Well I guess I was wrong.

I run 24/7 with a 27W PC 6500K bulb. Chaeto, like every algae, grows quite nicely for me.
