Algae Id and a way to kill it
 

as it says above this is my next battle. it grows in a tight nest i believe it calcium based, its not slimy and pulls off in bunches. it smothers out sps. any help on how to get rid of it would be awesome. thanks guys

It looks like dictyota, tough to tell for sure from the picture but if it is a Naso Tang will make short work of it. Rabbit fish are said to eat it as well.

they dont touch it at all. i heard that turbo snails are suppose to attack it and i have i think 12 in the tank but i have yet to see them get it

I think that's a type of coraline algae. I've never seen spread like that though. I think it is attractive, as long as it doesn't get out of control. It is calciferous, so it doesn't grow very quickly.

I have never seen that get out of hand. I'm willling to bet that you don't need to worry. Remove whatever you need to by hand, but I bet it doesn't go wild like hair algae or anything.

it is definitely a fast grower and spreads quickly and easily. i've been fighting this since before the dino outbreak.

Ditto on the coralline algae. I believe there is a pic/id in Calfos reef inverts book but I don't have it handy.

I dont think its dictyota, that stuff tends to be more brown. At least from what I have seen. I sometimes get fuzzy stuff like that growing on my back glass not sure what it is either. My scopas picks at it but never really cleans it all up.

Here is a picture of dictyota. This is the brown variety but there is other colors out there.
