If you don't mind me jumping in IMHO to get a skimmer under $200 you’re wasting your money. I don't have the problem of spending money on good quality equipment. If you want to go far in this hobby you need to research it more and more everyday. Sometimes people will buy skimmers 2-3 times their cleaning power simply to have that ease if mind where not a lot of people have the time to do water changes too.

But if you are looking for a skimmer for under 200 bucks I think a coral life skimmer is there on the market and actually they are a piece of crap. I would take your time and save up to buy a smaller Euro reef. ATI BM200 like Blaster’s that is a steal of a deal. Or even a small beckett.

What your keeping in the tank will have a big effect on what type of skimmer you would want. Lots of people are liking the becketts to over power them with a huge pump to skim the flesh off the Fish and corals.

Lots of people are liking the External models but the money is what you need to get them.
