buyer seller ratings

We need this on this website.I could name a half a dozen people that i would never deal with again. It just means the cyclw will continue.

We've discussed it before and decided against it.

It would be good to have it, I have bought lots of stuff from people here they have been great and awesome to deal with however, I think it would benefit for all of us to have it Brad IMHO. Might work out in the long run ,but I know that lots of people here are pretty honest ,but what Blaster have stated that there are some people out there he has had problems with, that I never new until now.

Make a private list and then suggest anyone that wants it to PM you.

There are alot of people with different opinions on who is a good seller so it should be dealt with privately instead of bringing it out into the public where it turns into a gong show.

We've always had a buyer/seller ratings forum on BCAquaria & it has it's pros & cons.

In general, it works well but the limitation we find is that people usually only post good transactions & don't mention bad ones (because they don't want to offend or something).

Since it's been decided not to have one for Canreef, then doing it privately seems the only viable option.

If the seller is ripping others board members off could a PM go to the mods to get the member banned from posting again?

No, unfortunately we aren't the sales police. There are always 2 sides to a story and we arent' going to ban someone based on a complaint from someone else.
A good practice is to deal with longer term members of the board, rather than people that just pop up for one or two sales. If you're considering buying something from someone, look at previous sales history, PM someone that dealt with that person. In all the years we've been here, I can only think of three incidents where there was questionable dealings. Overall that is pretty good.

I think this sort of system has the potential to create more problems than it solves.

What about even LFS. I have just had an incident with one that I would certainly like to inform people of.

Nope, just starts arguments. Best thing to do is not shop there anymore, if they continue to **** people off, they go out of business.
