Does anyone know how well the skilter 250 skimmer/filter works?

Do a search on skilters, I think you'll find that they are the second most hated pieces of equipment in the hobby. I have never used one myself though.

They work but they are loud anoying things and tend to put lots of micro bubbles in your tank.
I've used them on fish only tanks and found them to be junk.

i had a skilter. complete junk and no good for anything larger than 5 gallons.

ok, i get the idea lol, skilter's are fairly worthless

Maybe check out the Rio Nano skimmer

A few minor issues such as someone not installing the filtration pad properly and causing the skimmer to bow. But I think for $30, people thought it was a fine skimmer.
