Acrylic Tank needs drilling
 

Currently in the proccess of converting my 90 gallon fresh water tank into a salt water reef tank and would much prefer a drilled tank than an overflow. I assume some local places drill tanks but does anyone have a place they would recommend?

On the same note, are there any private people on the boards here who offer this service? Im kind of a DIY'er and have no problem paying another DIY'er to get this done.

I forgot to mention that I want to install the overflow acrylic pieces too. :redface:

You should be able to drill your acrylic tank with a press, or even a hand drill and standard holesaws - much easier than with glass! Just make sure you have the bulkheads you want to install with you at the time so you know exactly what size to drill. Good Luck!

Yeah acrylic is pretty easy to drill with a hole saw. I did my own.

Yah, its fairly easy, just triple check that you get it sealed.. LOL

I found it best to drill part way through on one side, then switch and complete the drilling from the other side. That way, you get a nice smooth surface on both sides.
