Here is a shot of another coral that is displaying some reasonable polyp extension these days

My first guess was that too but the coralites are more spread out than any tenuis I've seen so I don't think so unless it's due to reticulate evolution. I have been having some dificulty with the id on this one since even when I "turkey baste" it the polyps won't go in much so it's hard to tell what the actual skeletal structure is like. Interestingly enough it does have a serial # and date on the bottom of it's base from when it was maricultured but I doubt I will be able to trace it. Even if I could they would likely just say that it is an acropora of some kind. I will do some research when I get some time and I will get a positive id.

I didn't know maricultured pieces had serial #'s. That's wild. I've never seen it. Where does it show up, is it engraved or is it a tag?

How long have you been using reefresh now?

Yeah me neither, I discovered it by accident the other day when I was pulling a snail off that had attached on the underside making it tip. It is a tag that was glued on. The date is 17/12/06 so I assume that is when they put the frag back into the ocean to grow out. I need to check my other pieces to see if they have it too. Tony check the maricultured pieces you just got a while back, A.hoksemai & A.abrotanoides, they have the same kind of base and are likely from the same original supplier.
I started using reef-resh in Jan 07.

Do you attribute your overal coral health in part to Reef-fresh? I'm just considering some changes, and have been looking into this.

I can't say for certain, but if it ain't broke don't fix it. I am positive that if I had not been using it when I had my skimmer breakdown, about 8 weeks, and then with my DW leak incident most of my sps would have died.

I think I notice a pronounced difference in the pictures you post now and the pictures you used to post about a year ago and before. Mind you, I suspect you either have a better camera, or you got eye surgery, because the focus is also much better nowadays. :p :p :p
